Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris has revealed he is a fan of Asante Kotoko despite never playing for the Ghanaian giants.

The 22-year-old was answering questions from his fans via social networking site Twitter.

Waris was unearthed by Right to Dream Academy who gave him the chance to travel abroad to study at Hartpury College.

He later joined Swedish club BK Hacken where he emerged the best player and top goalscorer in their top flight in 2013.

The Black Stars striker never played top flight football in Ghana but revealed he was a huge fan of Asante Kotoko.

“I like all the teams but Kotoko more,” Waris revealed in a response to a question during the Twitter interaction.

The Ghana international’s response has opened a slim window of opportunity for Kotoko fans to benefit from his services with a move to the Ghanaian giants later on his career.

Waris has profited from a surge in form since joining French club Valenciennes on loan from Spartak Moscow in January.

He is also expected to make Ghana’s squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
