Al Ain lost their first game under coach Zlatko Dalic without their influential striker Asamoah Gyan in the 3-0 friendly defeat to Catania on Tuesday.

The Ghana striker is still considered not fit enough to return to serious action after arriving late to the side’s pre-season activities.

Gyan is however making significant progress with his team and special training program and is expected to feature soon for the Boss.

A brace by Lucas Castro and one other through Alessandro Rosina handed the Italian second tier club the impressive win in Logan, Austria.

The defeat represented the first tasted by the side in the 17 games presided over by coach Zlatko Dalic.

The UAE giants will play two more games to wrap up their 12-day training camp in Austria.
