Ghana striker Jordan Ayew has revealed he is concerned about his goal drought since joining French Ligue 1 side Sochaux on loan last month.

The 22-year-old was handed another start against Guingamp at the Stade Auguste-Bonal on Saturday in Sochaux’s 1-0 win thanks to an 84th minute strike by Zambian Stoppila Sunza.

He was replaced after 62 minutes by Pierre-Alain Frau.

“The most important thing is that the team got some much needed points, as for me personally it’s a worry the goals are not coming yet,” Ayew told reporters after the game.

“But as a striker I have to continue working hard and keep pushing, am enjoying games it’s just that the goals have refused to come.

“But every striker goes through this kind of spells so hopefully mine doesn’t take so long to end.”

Ayew moved from Olympique Marseille and has played in all six matches for his struggling side. .
