Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah is set leave English Premier League side Crystal Palace for a Championship club before the emergency loan window in England closes, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 24-year-old has been unable to play for the Premier League side since returning from his heroics at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations because he was not registered by the club for the top-flight competition.

With no playing time in sight, Crystal Palace want Appiah to join a Championship club on an emergency loan as the transfer window has closed.

The Ghana striker, 24, who is out of contract this summer, fired his country to the Africa Cup of Nations final after a short spell at Cambridge.

Palace are keen to get Appiah some playing time as his period of inactivity could have negative effect on him following his excellent showing for Ghana at the tournament in Equatorial Guinea in January.

He has been playing for Palace's junior side since it became clear that he could not play for them in the Premier League.

Appiah netted for Palace at Tooting & Mitcham’s ground as the side moved into the top two of the Professional Development League 2.

He could leave the club on a free transfer in the summer if his expiring contract with Palace is not extended or renewed.
