Ghana striker Majeed Waris has rejected an approach from Lorient because of their synthetic pitch, according to L'Équipe.

The Trabzonspor player targeted by the Brittany-based club as a replacement for compatriot Jordan Ayew who has been sold to Aston Villa.

But the former Valenciennes is disinterested in moving to the Stade du Moustoir.

Waris is pushing for a move to Stade Rennais but they must meet his price tag.

The 23-year-old had a quiet season last term after managing 18 league appearances.
