Ghana have fresh injury concern after home-based defender Richard Kissi Boateng picked up an injury on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.

The 24-year-old remains a doubt for Ghana's pre-Africa Cup of Nations camping in Abu Dhabi which begins on Saturday January 6.

The Berekum Chelsea left-back suffered a knock at the closing stages in their shock 1-0 defeat to Amidaus Professionals at the Golden City Park.

He failed to continue with the match and was replaced by striker Musa Mohammed.

Boateng could not walk on his feet and had to be carried on the back of a club official.

He must pass a late fitness test before the team's departure to the Middle East on Friday.

Boateng caught the eyes of Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah after impressive displays in the 2012 CAF Champions League.

He is one of five locally-based players in the preliminary 26-man squad.
