Ghana to have at least one referee at 2013 Nations Cup

Kwasi Nyantakyi has confirmed that there will be at least one Ghanaian referee at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana has struggled to get an official representation at Africa’s flagship competition for years.

Two assistant referees; AS Malik and David Laryea earlier this year took part in an advance CAF course which will be used to select referees for the Nations Cup in South Africa.

The Ghana FA boss who also serves on the powerful Executive Committee of CAF has however confirmed there will be at least one of them at the next AFCON.

“Fortunately for us Ghana will be having a referee, at least an assistant referee at the Africa Cup of Nations,” he said.

The confirmation comes as a massive boost to the refereeing industry in Ghana as it restores hope of they being considered for important competitions on the African continent.
