Ghana to play Tunisia in friendly before Africa Cup of Nations

Ghana will play Tunisia in a pre-2013 Africa Cup of Nations friendly match next year, the Ghana FA has announced.

The Black Stars will test their preparedness for the tournament against the Carthage Eagles on in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on 13 January.

"As part of our preparations for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations we have agreed to play Tunisia in a friendly in January," GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi said in a press statement.

"The match will be played in Abu Dhabi where Ghana will be camping for the tournament.

"We want to leave no stone unturned in our preparation so a match against one of the top sides in Africa like Tunisia will give the Black Stars the needed test for the Nations Cup."

Ghana will camp in Abu Dhabi from 7-16 January.

The four-time African champions are Group alongside DR Congo, Mali and Niger for the 19 January to February 10 finals in South Africa.
