Ghana to start 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho or Burundi

Ghana will begin their 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifying campaign against either Lesotho or Burundi at home in 01 June next year, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The Black Stars will then travel to Lusaka to play Zambia seven days later in the second Group D match.

Lesotho and Burundi square-off in the play-offs fixed for November this year and the winner joining the pack in Group D which also includes North Africans Sudan.

Lesotho host the first leg on 11 November and the second leg will be played on 15 November.

Ghana last played Burundi in the 1994 Fifa World Cup qualifiers and recorded a double over Lesotho en route to qualifying for the 2010 finals in South Africa.

Sudan's start life in the eliminators at home to Zambia on 1 June and then play the either Lesotho or Burundi on 8 June.
