Coach Maxwell Konadu might not lead the Ghana U-20 side to next yearââ¬â¢s African Youth Championships.
This was after a conflict of assignments between the Black Satellites and the senior national team was detected by the Ghana FA.
The Black Stars are billed to play a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan in March â⬓ around the same time the youth championship commences in Algeria.
Konadu who is the substantive assistant coach of the Black Stars was brought in to help out the U-20 team on an interim basis.
He however succeeded in turning the fortunes of the Black Satellites around to qualify them for the AYC.
The Ghana FAââ¬â¢s preference is to have the ex Asante Kotoko coach lead the team to Algeria but Ghanaââ¬â¢s crucial World Cup qualifier could prevent this from happening.
The association is thus looking at all possibilities including replacing Konadu for the tournament in Algeria.
ââ¬ÅWe have not hidden our desire to have Maxwell (Konadu) for the tournament but for the Black Stars game in March,â⬠Ghana U-20 Management Committee chairman George Afriyie told MTNFootball.com.
ââ¬ÅAs a result, things have been made difficult. Maxwell (Konadu) himself appears willing to be with the team (U-20 team).
ââ¬ÅBut we also have to make sure that the senior team has its full compliment for the crucial World Cup qualifier.
ââ¬ÅSo we are looking at options, but I can tell you it will eventually be a difficult decision to take either ways.ââ¬
The Black Stars will host Sudan in the World Cup qualifier on March 22, 2013 â⬓ just six days after the African Youth Championships kicks off in Algeria.
