Ghana’s U 17 side the Black Starlets will play their Namibian counterparts in the opening game of the four-nation invitational tournament in Windhoek on Wednesday.

Ghana were supposed to join host country Namibia and European giants Germany and fellow African powerhouse South Africa in the tournament.

But South African has pulled out of the tournament and will be replaced by Namibia U20 side as Germany are already in town.

Head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin named an 18-man squad for the tournament and the team left for Namibia on Sunday morning.

No reasons were assigned for South Africa has pulled out of the tournament.

Ghana will play European giants Germany in the next game before taking on Namibia U 20 in the last game of the tournament.

The Black Starlets will open their campaign to reach the 2017 African U17 African Championship with a first round qualifier against Liberia in June.

The Black Starlets will go through three rounds of qualifiers before they can clinch their place for the competition to be held in Madagascar next year.
