Ghana U20 assistant coach Yaw Preko is drawing positives from his team’s bronze medal feat at the African Youth Championships.

The Black Satellites lost two games throughout their campaign in Senegal to finish third.

Sellas Tetteh’s side also managed to secure qualification as one of four representatives from Africa to feature at the FIFA U20 World Cup later this year in New Zealand.

Assistant coach Yaw Preko believes the AYC has provided the appropriate platform to thoroughly assess his team and make needed corrections ahead of the World Cup.

“It was a good experience because we have been able to weight our negatives as against our positives,” he said.

“The most important thing is not only getting a medal but also qualifying for the World Cup.

“We have a lot of work to do but I am sure we will be ready by the time the World Cup comes along.”

Ghana is drawn in a tough group at the FIFA U20 World Cup alongside Argentina, Austria and Panama.
