Ghana's opponents and 2013 Africa Youth Championship hosts Algeria beat Premier League side ES Setif 1-0 in a friendly on Tuesday night.

Chélifien Zakaria Hadouche scored the winning goal for the Desert Foxes U20 team in the match played at the Stade 8 May 1945.

"Progress is palpable and I think we'll be ready for the African championship," Algeria U20  coach Jean-Marc Nobilo told APS in an interview.

"Our goal, despite the quality of our opponents in Group A (Egypt, Ghana and Benin) is to reach the last four and qualify for the World Cup in Turkey in June."

The Black Satellites will play Algeria in their final Group A match at the Stade Omar Oucief in Aïn Témouchent on March 22.

Ghana's opener is against Egypt on 16 March before engaging West African neighbours Benin three days later.
