Ghana U20 captain Clifford Aboagye: Win over Argentina was our toughest at World Cup

Clifford Aboagye insists the epic 3-2 win over Argentina was the most difficult game for the Ghana at the 2015 U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The Black Satellites had to hold on for a historic win over the South American champions despite racing into a 3-0 lead.

Benjamin Tetteh, Clifford Aboagye and Yaw Yeboah scored to send Ghana on cloud nine against the record U20 World Cup winners.

But a 10-minute meltdown saw the Black Satellites comes under immense pressure with Argentina pulling two goals back with second of play remaining.

And though Ghana held on for the vital win, Aboagye feels that game was Ghana’s sterner test of the tournament and not the humbling 3-0 defeat suffered at the hands of Mali.

“I think Argentina was the most difficult game for us even though we scored three goals,” he told Africanfootball.com.

“The Argentines came back strong in the final minutes and gave us a real scare.

“I know we lost to Mali in the knockout stage but I believe the most difficult game was the Argentina game.”
