Lawrence Lartey says the Black Satellites will attempt to win the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Ghana captain Lawrence Lartey believes they can win the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey.

The Black Satellites  missed out on a fourth African title after losing 5-4 to Egypt in Saturday's penalty shoot-out finale of the 2013 African Youth Championship in Algeria.

Ghana are in the Group of Death where they play European champions Spain, France and USA.

The technical handlers have promised augment the squad with some Europe-based players for this summer's tournament.

Lartey, named in CAF’s Best XI at the African tournament, is confident they can repeat the feat of the 2009 Year Group.

"Now we have a World Cup tournament to play and I believe we can do what we couldn’t do here there," the centre-back said.

"We were looking forward to win the tournament but we couldn’t so now that there is a World Cup ahead we will prepare well and make an impact there."

Ghana's contingent will arrive in Accra on Wednesday with their silver medals and the Fair Play trophy.
