Ghana U20 coach Sellas Tetteh says he will make a thorough assessment of his team before ringing changes ahead of the return leg of their African Youth Championships qualifier against Gabon.

The Black Satellites failed to make home advantage count when they were held to a goalless draw game by the visiting Gabon team at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Ghana now have it all to do in the return encounter expected to be played in a fortnight in Libreville.

The Black Satellites must avoid defeat at all cost or secure a scoring draw to make it through to next year’s final to be staged in Senegal at the expense of Gabon.

Some critics have however raised issues over the quality of players at the disposal of coach Sellas Tetteh – believing the injection of some foreign-based players could do the trick.

But the Ghana U20 trainer says he will first need to make an assessment before embarking on such a move he describes as difficult since foreign clubs are under no obligation to release players for aged competitions.

“We will look at the personnel of the team and if we need to make changes we will,” he said.

“We have a large pool of players but it is always difficult to bring in the foreign-based players.

“But we will see how it goes.”
