Ghana U20 coach Wellington under pressure to quit post

Coach Orlando Wellington is under intense pressure to quit his post after supervising another disaster with the country’s National under-20 team.

The Black Satellites failed to progress from the Group phase of the Cape-Town Invitational Tournament currently ongoing in South Africa

The team was bundled out of the 8-Nation tourney after finishing third in their group.

They played out a stalemate against Argentina in the final group game.

This situation has not help redeem the bad reputation of the coach who also failed miserably to defend the African Youth Championship in Rwanda.

The ex-Berekum Chelsea coach has come under intense pressure from soccer fans to quit his post for failing to deliver on two important international assignments.

Others have questioned his technical competence with doubt being raised about his capability to guide the team to qualify to the 2013 Africa Youth Championship.

But he claims their inability to win the Championship is not entirely his fault.

“I don’t think my assessments should be based on what happened in South Africa,” Wellington said

“The guys played well and so I don’t know why people should start a campaign to get me out,
