Ghana youth international Geoffrey Acheampong scored the consolation goal for French side SC Bastia in a 4-1 pre-season loss to German second-tier side Eintracht Braunschweig on Friday.

The young guardsman scored to reduce the deficit to 3-1 for the travellers but the Ligue 1 side succumbed to further goals and lost by a three-goal margin.

He resisted a challenge inside the box, outmuscling two opposition defenders before darting a neat ball to the far corner. His resilience attracted applauds from the watching fans and both benches.

Acheampong, 19, was signed by SC Bastia from UC Santa Babara of United States of America  in 2015 and has already started making waves in pre-season, signalling his readiness to grab a first team spot at the club for the upcoming season.

He was a member of the Black Staelittes side that defeated Ethiopia by 4-0 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the 2017 U20 Afcon qualifier but failed to secure qualification to the 2017 African Youth Championship.
