Ghana U20 star Clifford Aboagye says he is enjoying playing a leading role in the team at the African Youth Championships.

The 20-year-old is the only surviving member of the 2013 crop in the current Black Satellites’ squad.

Aboagye is expected to use his experience – having played in the same competition two years ago – to guide the side to continental success in Senegal.

The on-loan Udinese player at Spanish club Granada insists he is under no pressure being one of the leaders of the side.

“This is my second time at this tournament so I am not under any pressure,” he said.

“I have confidence in myself and I have been able to adapt to the team since I joined two weeks ago.

“They [teammates] see me as a senior player because I have played in this tournament and the World Cup before.

“So I give them my advice as a senior player to help guide them.”

Aboagye was adjudged one of the best players at the 2013 U20 World Cup in Turkey where Ghana finished third.
