Ebenezer Assifuah has been tipped by bookmakers to make World Cup squad

Ghana U20 striker Ebenezer Assifuah will make the country’s squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, pundits have predicted.

Assifuah, who currently plays for Swish side FC Sion, is believed to be among few players who could gatecrash Kwesi Appiah’s squad of the global showpiece.

There are many who believe the 20-year-old will explode on the World stage if he is given the chance to make the squad.

The ex-Liberty Professionals striker is not a name football fans across the global have forgotten having excelled heavily for Ghana’s Under-20 side at the 2013 FIFA World Youth Championship in Turkey.

The budding talent grabbed six-goals to finish as top scorer, helping fire the Black Satellites to a third place finish and earning him the adidas Golden Boot award.

The fleet-footed forward was an integral part of an extraordinary turnaround for the team as they picked bronze, which earned him a move to the Swish side to develop his talent.

Widespread media reports claimed on Tuesday that he is being seriously considered for a call-up into the Black Stars ahead of the international friendly against Holland on May 31.

The reports have gone on to suggest that he will be in the squad alongside captain Asamoah Gyan, Abdul Majeed Waris and Jordan Ayew as the country’s four main attackers at the global piece in the South American country.

It looks like richard boakye yiadom has fallen down the pecking order. Assifuah is hungry for goals n he made the right decision by moving to the swiss super liga to join fc sion. He had a concrete offer from french ligue 1 outfit saint etienne but hr rejected and joined fc sion to boost his chances of playing. This very good example shows how this boy is so comitted to the game. He will be a great addition.

Well, GH4Lyf, if Accam is that good, Jordan should make way for him. Assifuah is good enough, so is Acheampong for the leftwing position.

The fact that Jordan is in difficult moment of his career does not mean you can compare assifuah and accam to him. They are not even close. @Johnny

Hell no! Boakye Yeadom is strictly ahead of Assifuah, please don't let us rush the guy.Even at fc sion, he hasn't make any meaningful impact.Boakye yiadom proved his worth in the Seria B and he is not doing bad for Eche either.

Boakye yiadom is better than he should be considered ahead of Assifuah.

Top scorer of the FIFA world Youth championship is not a small feat and also moving to FC Sion to develop his career is also one of the magnificent moves I have seen in recent times as against most players with this kind of caliber always thinking of the big clubs. At FC Sion he is sure of playing time and not under excess pressure so can take his time to grow. He was an instant hit and started scoring till he had that brief injury. He has started playing again but I personally do not think he has done enough to warrant his call up into the BS yet. 3 league goals in 11 appearances not so impressive for world cup call up. I believe it will be good for him to concentrate on helping his team from going on relegation by banging in the goals and if he continues like that hopefully he will be ready for Ghana in the next afcon and 2018 world cup. For now I still think he has not been able to produce the form he produced at the youth championship in Turkey at the FC Sion yet and will advice he concentrate on his club. I like this young guy Richmond Boakye Yiadom but seem to have gone to sleep after scoring against Real Madrid. He is tactically discipline and I think he is the best when it comes to turning. However, his stamina and power is a bit suspect and this has made him over depending on only tactical play and that is not helping him. A striker of his caliber sometimes needs to come back and fight for ball, run with it, pass one or two opponents and either score or create a chance for somebody to score. Personally, I think this is where RBY needs to improve on. He has also started warming the bench and this is not surprise to me because anytime I watch him play I knew he lacks the energy to cause that moment of magic that normally changes game. He is one of the lucky guys but always failing to take his chances. Waris got just one opportunity and took it so well, now everybody rout for him. Although, Accam is not playing in one of the best leagues I think he is the one who deserves the next call up because he has been consistent so far than the above two and also bearing in mind that he and Waris are coming from the same academy.

We shouldn't rush him into the bs period!! It ll be the end of his bs career if we rush this dude into the bs! One lil mistake or one wasted opportunity and Ghanaians ll devour him up!! There are so many example of young Ghanaian players excelling at under age competition and MESSING UP BIG TIME WITH THE BS .... ADIYIAH?? WE LIVE TO SEE!!

It all comes down to the coach. Please don't be the coach; if you think you can coach, apply for the coaching job.

Guys have you noticed the qualities of David Accam, far better than boakye yiadom and asifua, I am not a big fan of Jordan Ayew, it should be gyan, waris, Accam and karkari, God bless Ghana.

David what? Masa I live here in sweden and do watch Accam more than u do. Yes he's doing his best but per now Accam isn't a black stars material. Boakye yiadom is tried and tested compare to Assifuah and Accam. I think it will not be wise to go to brasil will 4 strikers, simply because most of our goals will be scored by our midfielders and after playing attacking football against the u s.a.i expect Ghana to revert to 4-5-1 or 4-1-4-1.

Yes, RBY is tried and tested but does not appear to have utilised his chance well. He was called into the BS before Waris but failed to cement his place in the team and therefore drops down the perking you know?
