Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Ntim is hoping the vital experience he picked up at the FIFA U20 World Cup will propel him into securing a regular first team place at Valenciennes.

The 18-year-old featured prominently for the Black Satellites at the World Cup staged in New Zealand.

Ghana crashed out of the tournament at the Round of 16 stage to Mali despite an impressive group campaign which included a win over record winners Argentina.

But defender Emmanuel Ntim who remains with the youth side of Valenciennes is hoping the exposure gain will help graduate him into the senior side.

“I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to represent my country,” he said.

“If I make a good season with VAFC, maybe I would have the chance to play one day with Team A, who knows all depends on me.

“If I work hard and give the best in the field, they will see it."
