Ghana U20 star Frank Acheampong credits ‘wonderful’ mum
Frank Acheampong has been in top form for Ghana's 20 at World Cup.

Ghana U20 promising prospect Frank Acheampong has paid glowing tribute to his mother in his career development.

Acheampong showed his attributes when he set up two goals including the match winner in Ghana's dramatic 4-3 quarter-final win over Chile at FIFA U20 World Cup.

The former Berekum Chelsea and King Faisal player has been one of the Black Satellites shinning star at the tournament.

He has been likened to Lionel Messi because of his perky dribbles and sublime ball control.

Acheampong had a successful 18-month spell with Thai side Buriram United before landing a trial at Scottish side Celtic.

But later rather moved to Belgian side Anderlecht on loan; paving the way for a permanent deal.

Acheampong, whose father died two years ago, puts his rise all down to his mum.

"She used to tell me that even when I was crawling around I just wanted to kick things," Acheampong told FIFA.com

"But when I started at primary school I did so well that she didn't want me to play."
