Ghana U20 Wellington lashes out at players over Nigeria defeat

Ghana U20 coach Orlando Wellington has lashed out at his players insisting they did not play to instructions when losing 2-1 to Nigeria on Monday at the Africa Youth Championships in South Africa.

Two goals from Uche Nwofor helped to finish off the Black Satellites who are the title holders of the competition.

Kwame Nsor got the consolation goal for Ghana even though they played on a rough pitch Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg.

A furious Wellington told Kickoffghana that the players failed to listen to his instructions about the bad state of the pitch.

"I am very very disappointed especially with the way the players showed tactical indiscipline,” Wellington said.

“I told them the pitch is not good so don't spend too much time trying to control the ball because you would lose it. That is what happened.”

Ghana must beat Gambia in their next game on Thursday to brighten their chance of reaching the last eight.
