Ghana’s Vice President Kwasi Amissah-Arthur has arrived in South Africa to support the Black Stars to victory against Burkina Faso on Wednesday.

The visit is in fulfillment of an earlier promise made by the Chief of Staff Prosper Bani of the arrival of high profile personalties to support the team at various stages of Ghana’s campaign at the 2013 Nations Cup.

H.E Amissah-Arthur is expected to fly to Nelspruit on Wednesday morning to have breakfast with the team before issuing a strong motivational message on behalf of the President John Mahama.

Support from the Ghana government for this year’s tournament has been immense.

The State sponsored over 1000 supporters and media men and women to the competition aside providing the necessary funds and logistics for the Black Stars team itself.

These supporters and journalists have over the past two weeks been housed in descent accommodation while their welfare, feeding and transportation has been well catered for by the state.

The Black Stars team is currently enjoying an unprecedented amount of goodwill occasioned by the dignified reception accorded the travelling party from Ghana.

The state is now making a final push by bringing personalities from the Presidency to ensure Ghana ends a 31-year wait for an African title in South Africa.

President John Mahama will definitely join the team in South Africa if the Black Stars beat Burkina Faso on Wednesday to seal their place in Sunday’s grand finale.

Ghana has now equaled its own record of four consecutive qualifications to the semi-finals of the Nations in South Africa.

The team however hopes to end a staggering 31-year trophy drought by clinching gold this term – a feat that will obviously pull the nation together especially following emergence from a hotly contested elections.
