Albert Adomah’s future at Middlesbrough is almost over after he handed in a transfer request at the club on Thursday, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

Adomah, 27, has told his employers he wants to leave after he falling out with manager Aitor Karanka.

The Ghana international was left out of the side’s two previous games against Bristol City and Burton Albion in the Capital One game this week to fuel speculation about his long-term future.

Boro are hoping the winger will stay with the club after the end of the transfer window, but it appears that will not happen after the African slapped in a transfer request.

Adomah will be racing against time to sign for a new club with only five days left for the transfer window to shut.

But reports have suggested he could be returning to Bristol City in the interim before looking for a permanent deal in January.
