Black Stars winger Christian Atsu returned from international duty to set up a goal for Vitesse Arnhem to help them manage a narrow away win over NAC Breda in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday.

Atsu's effort in the 26th minute ensured Vitesse breathed live into their title ambitions when he set up Japanese international Mike Havenaar to score the match-winner at the Rat Verlegh Stadion.

Vitesse lost their leadership of the Eredivisie table and are fighting to restore themselves but Jordy Buijs disrupted their plans when he pulled level for Breda after Zakaria Labyad had given Vitesse the lead.

And, as the tie approached the half-hour mark, Atsu razored his way through the Breda backline with skill and power before locating Havenaar who brilliantly finished the move to hand send Vitesse to second place.

Atsu has played 19 times this season for Vitesse and has scored trice and provided as many as 6 assists.

Atsu wasnt bad against montenegro. Go and watch germany vs chile and you will see how awful schweinsteiger,Götze, kroos and the rest of germany players played. You cant take one game to judge a player.

Atsu is gradually losing his touch and am not surprised!! Is he really his age? He is not the same guy again!! After he did marvelously against Malawi in Kumasi, he has been a big FLOP for Ghana in all matches he has featured!! He needs to up his game because he is showing us that he is after all a very AVERAGE PLAYER and all the hype about him been Africa messi is not than hallucination from intoxicated Ghanaians!! Frank MESSI ACHEAMPONG IS BETTER THAN ATSU!!

Played 19, scored thrice and provided only 6 assists is very medicriority and am surprised someone said we should let him be!! Atsu is the most disappointed of the year for Ghana and all the hype about him is not than Ghanaian media trying to hype an average player!! They say he is a going player and how can a young player who has been compared to messi plays like this!!.... He is a very average player and he shows us his true colors during the afcon!! Am just wondering if he can even make the bench in Chelsea when he is playing like an old man in dutch league!! He needs to up his game because frank acheampong is better than him!!

Selfmade, before you write anything negative about someone just pause for a minute and ask yourself 'what do I intend to achieve? '.I think this simple advice will inform most of the things we write on this platform. You have not said anything to improve the boy just to tear him into pieces. Draw the positives- together with his team mates they are leading the league. He did not do pre-season with them and yet has managed 3 goals and 6 assists. It is still impressive that is why he remains a regular in the team. I will advise you to have a positive outlook to life as that will guide your thoughts and feelings about others.

@ keleele... Listen mate, what am saying is nothing but the truth!! There is nothing negative about what I said!! If u quite remember after the Malawi match in which atsu was the most outstanding player, a lot of Ghanaians showered him with unnecessary accolades such as messi, Ghana messi, Africa messi etc but quite a number of football personalities such as abedi, appiah and Sam arday came out to cautioned Ghanaians to be mindful of those useless titles as is too early to raise the boy to that level but I guessed football rookies like u didn't understand why they said that n I know that the consequences of those useless appellations did get into the boys head such that he has never been himself again in Ghana's jersey!! Anyone who disputes this fact is a liar!! Do u remember these talented Ghanaian players!! Michael OWEN adu amofa, papa DIOF don bortey, nasiru ghani LAMPARD, Kwame BABE ROONEY Obeng darko? What do they have in common? Charlatan Ghanaian fans gave them big time footballers name and the consequences were disastrous!! We all enjoyed these big names forgetting about the pressures that comes along with it!! I just want u to be very frank and compare atsu in his debut match for Ghana and atsu after that! After the virtuoso performance in the Malawi match whereby the whole stadium was in a standing ovation for him,his performances in consequent matches has been disastrous to say the least and this was due to unnecessary appellations which got into his head!! Lastly, u said he didn't have any pre- season which is a big lie!!! Even during his transfer brouhaha with Porto, he was still with them during the pre-season and even went on tour with them!! Again, when he was even getting game time, he was still training with their junior teams,so that's non starter!! Finally, 19 matches,3 goals and only 6 assists is nothing than AVERAGE and I dare anyone to tell me something different!!

@ self made... U right my dude!! U hit the nail right on the head!! Ghanaians like given useless titles to upcoming players and this has destroyed most a career!! U very right!! I always read your comments and though u insults a lot, u are very smart, intelligent and a clever guy! I quite remember atsu debut in ohene djan staduim where the vice-president even gaven him a standing ovation!! He has not been himself!
