Ghana winger Christian Atsu has accused Uganda of packing the bus in the 1-1 draw in the opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday.

The Black Stars had to fight from behind to earn a point off the Cranes before their irate home fans in Kumasi.

Andre Ayew’s second half penalty was all Ghana could offer to get a point off Uganda.

Tonny Mawejje had stunned the hosts with a well-taken goal just before halftime.

Coach Kwesi Appiah’s side, playing under intense pressure from the relatively hostile home fans failed to impress in their first game after their disappointing campaign at the 2014 World Cup.

Atsu says the defensive tactics adopted by the visiting team, made things even more difficult.

"Uganda came with a strategy and they packed a lot of midfield players which made it difficult for us to break through,” the Everton man said after the game.

"We created a lot of chances in the first half and we could not score but like I said before, things will get better.”

Ghana must now dust itself off this disappointing result quick enough before facing Togo on Wednesday in Lome.
