Ghana winger Christian Atsu says he is delighted with the increase in number of Ghanaians in the English Premier League ahead of the start of the new season.

Black Stars striker Jordan Ayew signed a five-year contract with Aston Villa on Monday following a breakthrough season with Lorient in the French Ligue 1.

His elder brother Andre had signed for Wales-based Swansea City to shoot the number of Ghanaians in the Premier League to four with Jeffrey Schlupp at Leicester and Atsu with Bournemouth.

The former Porto man says he is relishing the opportunity to take on his international mates when the season starts.

“I want to see more Ghanaians in the English premier league, I think it will help improve the national team and I want to see that everyone is successful here to help the national team go forward,” Atsu is quoted by Sports Crusader.

“This is the most exciting league in the world and it is the dream of every player to be here.”
