Ghana's talented winger Christian Atsu says he is now ready to make a big impact at English Premier League side Bournemouth after recovering from injury and returning from his international break.

The 23-year-old joined the Cherries on loan from English Premier League champions Chelsea in the summer but has yet to play a competitive match for the club.

An injury during Bournemouth's pre-season looks to have affected plans of him playing matches for the Cherries and since recovering he has been on international with the Black Stars.

After playing in the international matches against Congo and Rwanda whilst on international duty two weeks ago, Atsu thinks he is fit to hit the ground running for Bournemouth.

"I'm feeling fit and I'm waiting for my opportunity. I'm doing my best each and every day to be ready because I really want to play," Atsu said.

"I hope I will get my chance soon because I have settled well off the pitch."

Atsu, who was the best player at this year Africa Cup of Nations in January says he is happy in Bournemouth because he has settled down well in the city.

The Ghana international midfielder said: "I have lived all over the world and Bournemouth is a very nice town in my opinion. One of the most important things is that there are a lot of sunny days.

"Sometimes it can be difficult moving from place to place, but Bournemouth is the most similar place to Porto and Vila do Conde in Portugal, where I really enjoyed living.

"In Liverpool you couldn't see the sun most days, but his only appearance to date was in the League Cup victory over Hartlepool United."
