Ghana winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie started trials with  Real Valladolid on Monday, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm. 

GHANAsoccernet.com broke the news about the trial session being offered the Ghanaian international  by the Spanish side following an unsuccessful spell at Greek giants Panathinakos.

The 27-year-old started training with the cash-strapped side and has one week to impress manager Juan Ignacio Martinez.

Quincy has started training with us and we’ll decide his future after a few days,” sports director Alberto Marcos said.

“At the moment, he’s being tested and if we’re clear in our minds, we’ll take a firm decision.

"He has lots of speed and since we’re looking for people who can download much oxygen.

Owusu-Abeyie tasted his first experience of Spanish football with Celta Vigo in the Segunda, with 4 goals in 21 appearances in the 2007-2008 campaign.

His second spell in La Liga was with Malaga for the 2010-2011 season, where he made 25 appearances and scored 2 goals, whilst also scoring 1 goal in three games in the Copa del Rey

Owusu-Abeyie has a much-travelled career having spent his formative years in the youth system at Ajax.

He began his professional career with Arsenal, featuring in 23 games and scoring 2 goals in all competitions between the 2003-2004 and 2005-2006 seasons.

Then moved to Spartak Moscow and after being surplus to requirements, he returned to England and spells on loan at Birmingham City and Cardiff City in the Championship, during the 2008-2009 season.

Owusu-Abeyie has also played for Qatari side Al Sadd.
