Ghana international winger Wakaso Mubarak's debut for Scottish giants Celtic is still on hold after being left out of Saturday's 2-1 win over  Aberdeen.

The 24-year-old was on the bench for the entire duration of the game as Celtic survived a spirited Aberdeen fight-back to gain their first win in five games.

The Rubin Kazan loanee rejoined his Celtic team-mates on Thursday after playing for Ghana in the 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Uganda and Togo during the week.

Celtic manager Ron Deila was expected to hand the former Espanyol winger his debut on Saturday as they host Aberdeen at the Celtic Park in an early kick-off.

However, the Ghanaian was made to sit on the bench for the entire duration of the game delaying his debut for the club since joining them before the transfer deadline.

Wakaso arrived at the Glasgow giants a fortnight ago on loan from Russia but was unused by Deila in their 1-1 draw with Dundee United but could feature on Saturday afternoon.

Deila, a former manager of Ghanaian trio Adam Kwarasey, Mohammed Abu and Nana Boateng, was facing injury situations and was expected to start Wakaso in midfield despite his late arrival from the international break.
