The Ghana FA won’t name a new Black Stars coach next contrary to media reports in the West African country, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

Media reports had claimed the FA was preparing to announce a new coach by next week with former Chelsea coach Avram Grant tipped to win the race.

But GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal that an announcement will be deferred until the country’s sports minister gives his seal of approval.

Mahama Ayariga is out of the jurisdiction with his return date unknown while the Executive Committee must be informed of the decision before subsequent approval.

Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi will be in South Africa this weekend to speak at the 2014 Soccerex African Forum in Durban which runs from 4-5 November.

Other members of the Executive Committee will also be in South Africa to attend the forum which will bring together over 1000 senior football decision-makers together with businesses from across the continent and the world for two days of unrivalled learning, networking and business opportunities to unite the business of football in Africa.

Michel Pont and Juan Ignacio Jimenez are also in the running for the top Ghanaian job.
