Ghanaian teenager Christian Atsu has vowed to hold down a permanent place in FC Porto's first team and play in the Uefa Champions League next season.

The 19-year-old, on loan from local side Cheetah FC, was promoted to the Porto first team and was on the bench in their 2-0 triumph over Maritimo over the weekend.

The utility winger is highly rated at the Estadio do Dragao and remains optimistic of siging a permanent deal in the summer.

He told GHANAsoccernet.com "I am not surprised that I'm in first team now because I was playing really good. I scored ten goals from the wings and I think that is good."

"My plan now is to work hard and remain in the first team. I have been training with them all the time so I believe I can do it. And when I do, you know there is Uefa Champions League action for me next season so there is more to work for," he added.

Compatriot David Addy has returned to Porto after the expiration of his loan spell at Academica Coimbra.
