Ghana youth defender Emmanuel Ntim came off the Valenciennes bench to make his debut for the French Ligue 2 club in their 2-0 away loss at Clermont on Friday night.

The 19-year-old right-back climbed off the bench in the 74th minute replace Central African Republic midfielder Eloge Enza-Yamissi and lasted the rest of the regulation minutes.

The 2013 Ghana U17 defender returned from injury in early November and warmed the bench twice prior to his debut on Friday night.

Ntim, who played for Ghana at the 2015 U20 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand, joined Valenciennes from Ghanaian academy Right to Dream in 2013 but had to wait for almost two years to play his first game for the club.

He is the only Ghanaian player to play in the French Ligue 2 on Friday night as defender Jonathan Mensah is injured.
