Ghanaian born defender Gideon Jung has revealed that he is improving g steadily at German Bundesliga side Hamburg SV after struggling to maintain his first team selection.

The Ghanian born who has played for Germany’s U21 side joined Hamburg in 2014 but was sent to the Team B where he made 23 Appearances before returning to the Bundeliga side.

Upon his return in the new season, Gideon has had consistent playing time with The Dinosaur and says he is improving steadily match after match.

“With each further game I mature. But I want to continue to improve in all areas and am not yet with my development,” Gideon told the German press in an interview.

The 22-year old however disclosed that he is playing his own brand of football and is not trying to copy anyone even though he receives a lot of advice from his seniors in the team.

“They (Johan Djourou and Emir Spahic) are experienced players, of whom I can learn a lot - just in the position game. After the game, I often get tips from them. This is helpful. But I'm not trying to copy anyone,” he noted.

Jung is eligible to don the Black Stars jersey if called by head coach Avrm Grant as he is yet to play for the German senior national team.
