Ghanaian giants Kotoko will travel to Spain on Tuesday to start their pre-season training in preparation for their Premier League title defence.

The Porcupine Warriors are seeking a smooth start to their 2014/2015 league campaign and the trip to Europe is expected to whip the side into shape for the tough matches ahead.

Coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani will travel with 23 players and seven officials as they are expected to be engaged in some friendlies matches but the identity of their opponents is still unknown.

Kotoko will leave Accra on Tuesday night for the two-week tour and arrive in Spain the following day before they hit training that evening.

With the full calendar for the season yet to be unveiled, the Porcupine Warriors say they don't want their plans to conflict with the start of the First Capital Plus Premier League.

“We will be leaving Ghana to Spain on Tuesday. But we want to first know the time table from the GFA so it does not conflict with our schedule. So we have written to the FA and we are expecting a reply today,” acting spokesperson of the Club, Ali Maradona said.

“We will spend about two weeks there, but we are yet to know the teams we are going to play with. The organizers will decide on that”.

This will be the third time Asante Kotoko will be embarking on a training tour in Europe having done that in 2007 and 2012 in Germany and Serbia respectively.
