Ghanaian coach Kobina Amissah took charge of first CAF inter-clubs competition by leading Liberian side Red Lions in their 1-0 first leg Confederation Cup defeat to CS Constantine at home.

The former Hasaacas coach, who joined the club late last year, saw his side go down to a Zahir Zerdab goal.

Liberian strugglers Red Lions were playing their first match of the tournament after preliminary round opponents Estrela de Cantanhez of Guinea Bissau withdrew.

“I have assembled a new and young team and our opponent was too strong for us but we are not giving up yet,” Amissah told GHANASoccernet.com

“It was a nice experience for me to play in the CAF Confederation Cup. The benefits of playing clubs from different and stronger league will make me better.”

Red Lions are also making their debut in Africa after losing last season's Liberian FA Cup.
