Ghanaian contingent of Solomon Asante, Yaw Frimpong, Nii Adjei and Gladson Awako are set to work under a new coach after Thierry Froger parted way with TP Mazembe just two months after signing a year deal with the club.

Following their failure to qualify for the CAF Champions League for the second time in succession, the DR Congo side decided to part ways with Frenchman Thierry Froger.

The quick move comes days after “the Ravens” failed to reach the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League groups phase for the second year running.

Mazembe were kicked out of the premier club competition on the continent by Zimbabwean side CAPS United on 1-1 aggregate.

“The club and the coach decided to split-up by mutual agreement after observing that the goal of qualifying for the CAF Champions League groups phase was not reached,” Mazembe announced in a statement.

Thierry Froger, 53, took over from fellow Frenchman Hubert Velud who exited the Lubumbashi-based side, for Tunisia’s Etoile Sahel, after guiding them to the 2016 CAF Confederations Cup glory.
