Posted On Wednesday, 2nd February 2011

South Africa second-tier side Blackburn Rovers have snapped up Ghanaian defender Gabriel Appiah on loan from New Edubiase United.

The 20-year-old moved to the Mdantsane-based side two months ago but his registration was confirmed on Wednesday.

Appiah is one of six players signed by the club who are seeking to escape relegation from the Coastal Stream zone of the National First Division.

Blackburn Rovers are second-bottom on the eight-team table and will play N Lions on Friday at home.

So, we can’t attract many players from other African countries to come and play in our Premier league. But they can attract out plays to come and play in their lower divisions?

The fact is that our football club administrators are all greedy bastards. They are only interested in the little cash they will get ond not the clubs’ growth. Yet when they run out of cash, they will scream at the fans for not coming to the stadium. which players are there to watch? Ask Mohammed Polo and he will tell you that we go to the stadium to watch players with class not just anyone in the teams’ jersey.
