Joseph Adjei was sent off

Ghanaian defender Joseph Adjei was marched off the pitch while in action for Cape Town City FC on Tuesday.

His sending off was not to blame for his side's huge 4-0 loss to Platinum Stars who were chasing their first win in five games.

The former Wa All Stars player had to take an early shower when after being booked twice during the course of play.

Adjei, 21, went into the referee's pocket 4 minutes after the interval and recorded his second booking of the game in the 90th, leading to his sending off.

This means City manager Eric Tinkler would be without the talented defender when his side take on SuperSport United this weekend.

The Ghana youth international was unused as Aubrey Ngoma and Judas Moseamedi found he back of the net for City.

Adjei joined the club this season from Wa All Stars and was making his fourth league appearance of the season.
