Helsingborg’s Ghana-born defender Joseph Baffo has been named in the Sweden’s Under-21 squad, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The 19-year-old towering defender who has played an influential role in Helsingborg IF’s 7th Allsvenskan championship has represented the Scandinavian country at Under-17 and Under-19 levels.
Baffo must apply for a nationality switch to qualify to play for Ghana as a senior international.
A close source to Baffo told GHANAsoccernet.com the defender could play for Ghana if he is approached.
Baffo was born to Ghanaian parents in the West African country and speaks Twi.
