Sweden international of Ghanaian descent Joseph Baffo is expected to make his debut for Eintracht Braunschweig in the German Pokal Cup on Saturday.

The 22-year-old central defender has gained match fitness and Braunschweig manager Torsten Lieberknecht is set to name him in his line-up to face third-tier side Hallescher FC.

Baffo warmed the bench for Braunschweig last weekend when they held second-tier league giants Kaiserslautern to a goalless stalemate before 33,000 fans at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion.

The 2015 Euro U21 gold medal winner joined Braunschweig after leaving Swedish Allsvenskan campaigners Halmstad BK.

He is at the club with German-born Ghanaian full-back Philemon Ofosu-Aryeh who has expressed interest in playing for Ghana.

Baffo has been capped by Sweden at various youth levels but has told GHANAsoccernet.com in the past he is opened to a senior switch to Ghana.
