German-born Ghanaian defender Marcel Appiah is delighted to return to action for NEC Nijmegen after the Dutch Football Federation reversed his red card against Heracles Almelo last weekend. 

The Dutch Eredivisie regulatory body - KNVB reversed the red card showed to the 27-year-old on the 55th minute mark by referee Jochem Kamphuis and he is available to for selection as NEC face giants Ajax Amsterdam on Sunday.

Appiah, who has started both of NEC's opening games in the Eredivisie season, is thrilled to be available to face Ajax at the Goffertstadion.

"They've reversed the red card and I'm really happy about that. I'm looking forward to the Ajax game because we need all the three points available for grabs in the game," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Appiah was born to a Ghanaian father and a German mother and has expressed interest in playing for Ghana.

The 189 cm tall right-back can also fit in well at a central defensive role as he featured 8 times in the role during NEC's promotion campaign last season.
