Ghanaian defender Sam Mensah is inching closer to making a full recovery from a horrific knee injury suffered at the start of the Swedish season.

The 24-year-old suffered a cartilage and a meniscus tear in his left knee while in action for his club Orebro in one of the opening league matches against Gotenborg.

Mensah as a result, has been out for close to three months.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate has made tremendous progress in his recovery and is now just two weeks away from training with the Orebro.

“I have started with fitness and ball work now so in two weeks I will join the team,” Mensah told Goal.

Mensah only joined Orebro this season having impressed at lower tier Ostersunds where he was adjudged the overall best player last season.
