Ghanaian defender Seth Nana Twumasi has joined English League Two side Newport County after being released by Yeovil Town.

Newport County AFC manager Terry Butcher has further boosted his squad on Thursday with the addition of former Yeovil Town duo Nathan Ralph and Seth Nana Twumasi.

Ralph, aged 22, can play at left-back or as a left-winger and 25-year-old Twumasi at right-back or on the right of midfield.

The pair were both released by Yeovil last month also played together at Peterborough United in the past.

England under-20 international Twumasi was born in Accra, Ghana, and moved to the UK aged nine.

He came through the Chelsea youth ranks before moving on to Peterborough, Northampton Town and Yeovil.

"I'm very pleased to add another two players to the squad," said Butcher.

"These things take a long time but we are up to 16 now so we have a team, which we didn't before.

"Nathan and Seth know each other well and they are versatile.

"They can play in different areas and that is important in the squad we're trying to build.

"Throughout the season we will get injuries and suspensions and we need players who can step into different roles and be comfortable."
