Ghanaian duo Rahim Ayew and Yahaya Mustapha played full throttle for College Europa FC as they were bundled out of this season's UEFA Champions League after losing 3-1 to TNS in the first qualifying round at the Estádio Do Algarve on Tuesday evening.

FC Europa held an advantage over The New Saints ahead of the game after their last week's 2-1 win in Wales.

But it was the the Welsh side that opened the scoring in the 37th minute through an own goal by Spanish midfielder Ivan Moya.

The Welsh giants doubled their lead courtesy Scott Quigley in the 41st minute following a great through ball from Aeron Edwards.

However, the Gibraltar side reduced the deficit in the 53rd minute via Liam Walker's penalty.

FC Europa were reduced to nine players after two quick cautions to Kike Gomez and Alex Quillo but they held on to take the game to extra time.

The Welsh giants regained their two-goal advantage after Scott Quigley beat goalkeeper Javi Munoz from close range in the 105th minute.

TNS advanced with a 4-3 aggregate win over their Gibraltar counterparts.
