The appointment of the 44 year-old former Serbia and Montenegro assistant coach was heavily criticized in some quarters but he made a perfect start to his reign.

"From the onset everybody knew I was not particularly a fan of Plavi because I thought Humberto Cuelho was the best man for the job but at least after seeing him help the Black Stars win the game in that comprehensive fashion, he needs to be encouraged," Asempa FM's pundit Kobby Jones commented.

"We didn’t get the chance to watch the match on TV but I have friends in Belgium who watched the game at Antwerp and after talking to them I believe Goran is the right man for the job and I’m positive when he gets the needed support from all frontiers, he can deliver the trophies he talked when took over."

"Obviously the coach did well even though it might be early days yet to judge the coach on a single game, I still insist the coach has got the winning mentality and that’s a positive sign for all of us," another told Kumasi-based Hello FM.

The next assignment of the former Partizan Belgrade coach will be next month against Congo Brazaville in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and will face England three days later in a friendly.
