Ghana's David Accam expertly converted a penalty for Helsingborg in their 3-2 friendly defeat to Russian giants Spartak Moscow in Portugal on Saturday.

The 23-year-old Ghanaian was fouled inside the box after tearing his way through and he elected himself to brilliantly convert for the Reds.

Spartak had taken a 2-0 lead after scoring in the 21st and 37th minutes but Accam produced a magical moment to halve the deficit for his side.

Early in the second half Helsingborg were awarded a penalty. David Accam broke a passing and ran into the penalty area where he was fouled. Accam himself took care of sentence and intelligently sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.

But after Accam's consolation, Spartak pressed on and added the third but another Ghanaian Ema Boateng came off the bench to set up another consolation for Helsingborg in the dying embers.

"I'm feeling positive because we played against a better team and personally my performance was encouraging so I just need to keep it up," he told GHANAsoccernet.com after the game.

Helsingborg are winding down their preparation ahead of the near Swedish season and Accam and Boateng are expected to play a key role in the season for the former Swedish champions.
