Ghanaian forward Kwame Amponsah Karikari enhanced his scoring reputation by netting a double for Haugesund in their 4-1 Norwegian Cup thrashing of lower-tier side Asane on Wednesday afternoon at the Myrdal Gress.

The 24-year-old fired his side 2-1 into the lead with a brilliant 29th minute finish before he sealed victory in the 50th minute.

Karikari has now scored five goals in 3 games in the competition so far and remains one of the most prolific strikers vying for the trophy and individual laurels.

The former AIK Solna gangling striker was at the end of a fine cross from the right to register his first goal of the afternoon before he raced to latch on to a searching pass and finish off gleefully.

Haugesund have reached the fourth round of the competition and will be hoping to reach the knock-out stages of the competition.

Midfielder Derrick Mensah was unused by the visitors but is likely to be available for the weekend league game.
