Ghanaian striker Patrick Twumasi scored a fabulous finish to aid Kazakhstan champions FC Astana to secure passage to the next stage of the Europa League.

The 22-year-old former Sogakope Red Bull Academy graduate scored on the 76th minute mark to ensure the Kazakhstan Premier League title-holders nicked a draw in Belarus.

Astana have progressed on a 4-2 aggregate win after managing a 2-0 lead from the first leg tie in Kazakhstan.

Bate,  the hosts, were seeking to recover from a 2-0 first-leg defeat suffered last week but they were reduced to ten men while Astana took advantage to strangle them.

Twumasi scored to put Astana 2-1 ahead before the home side snatched a late equalizer but it proved too late to stage a comeback.

The Ghanaian striker has now scored twice in his last two games for Astana after scoring in a league game during the weekend.

He was handed his debut Ghana call-up In June but he failed to make an appearance in Avram Grant's Black Stars side.
